Deadwood Covered Bridge

Deadwood Covered Bridge was built in 1932 “at a cost of $4,814” (1985, p. 188). The Historic Highway Bridges of Oregon includes a photo of the bridge barricaded and closed to traffic. The bridge was restored to traffic in 1986 which resulted in the new Tudor shaped portals.

The bridge deck is slanted which, paired with car sickness, was an unusual experience.

🤢Our route was I-5 to Highway 36 through Triangle Lake to Deadwood. The twists and turns caused car sickness. We drove home along Highway 101. Pack some Tum’s.
