Lake Creek/Nelson Mountain Covered Bridge
Lake Creek or Nelson Mountain Covered Bridge was constructed in 1928. It is a 105-foot Howe truss and featured old-growth timbers for the upper and lower chords.The portals are “truncated rectangular arches” (1985, p. 183).

The knot holes created a beautiful art display on the asphalt floor system.
My best guess is this little door is for maintenance. Foliage around the bridge did not provide a view of the door from the exterior. However, it could be a lovely access point for fishing.

Photography failed attempt - the shadows on the wood are reflections from the water below. As the water flows, the shadows dance. It is beautiful in real time, but my photography has yet to capture the magic.
