Wildcat Covered Bridge

Wildcat Covered Bridge. Do not be afraid, the only wildcat that growled was on our Sirrus XM Dave Matthews Radio Station.

Wildcat was built in 1925 and spans the Siuslaw River. The 75-foot Howe truss features a window on the east side to increase visibility on the curved road.

Lovely window on the east side of Wildcat.

The sign on the bridge reads Wild Cat, but my two Oregon Department of Transportation guides use Wildcat. It has me feline confused.

This image shows the importance of the window and ribbon openings to allow light.

Remember to be XTRATUF

Wild Cat spans the Siuslaw River. There is a lovely swimming and fishing hole below the bridge. I wish I had my XTRATUFs in the back of the car so I could take advantage of the increased angles.
