Lost Creek

Lost Creek Covered Bridge - September 2025

Lost Creek

Lost Creek Covered Bridge is considered one of the shortest and oldest covered bridge. The 39-feet bridge features a queen post truss system. The original bridge was built in 1881. However, it may have been built as early as 1878. The official construction date is 1919.

To reach the bridge, one needs to drive roughly a half-mile on a gravel road. The road is well-maintained. Neighbors wave and welcome visitors.

Several of the Southern Oregon bridges acknowledge their number. This was a new feature for me.

Well-Loved

Lost Creek Covered Bridge is well-loved. There is a guest book, history, and United States flags. It is rare to visit a bridge that features a contact information with personal cell phone numbers.

There is a beautiful park next to the bridge that welcomes visitors.
